Information Technology Entrepreneurship

This course will provide an overview of the basic concepts on entrepreneurship focusing on the nature, environment, and risks of new venture formation and building of businesses. It is designed to explore the personality of the entrepreneur and how innovative business ideas are created. Students will learn to consider various type of business models, conduct feasibility studies, write a business plan, and evaluate problems and finding solutions to those problems in order to come out with creative and innovative IT products and services. Furthermore, students will also learn plan the strategy required to start a new business using Blue Ocean Strategy approach. Students will also be exposed to case study method using a combination of cases from the textbook and Harvard Business School cases in order to give them exposure to the real world problems. Active participation by students during class discussions and activities is encouraged and expected.
